ROC Race

Saturday November 5th @ 9am

Pomona Fairplex

You’ve seen summer TV shows like ABC’s Wipe Out and thought you could do better. You’re in decent shape. There’s a competitor somewhere deep down. You’ve talked to friends and family of the firefighter ilk, listening patiently as they bragged and boasted about their new personal best and reaffirmed physical prowess after completing the latest 10K military inspired mountain side obstacle course. You could probably train for a few months and do the same. Not at the top of your list, but a goal within reach.

But where is the real race for you, you’ve wondered? One that combines the childish fun of these other obstacle courses – without the need for back acne inducing amounts of testosterone. Well, decently fit adventure-seeking male, it seems your long wait is over. LA’s ROC Race (Ridiculous Obstacle Challenge), unlike some of it’s more masculine brethren, encourages an all out good time with truly ridiculous obstacles you haven’t seen anywhere this side of a Japanese game show. Ball Pits. Inflatable Slides. Boulder Dodging. Snow Mountains.

With costumes and otherwise ridiculous behavior encouraged, ROC Race is a guaranteed good time. Live music, tasty eats and a finish line beer garden are all included with the price of admission. You may never have had the childhood chance to meet Mark Summers on the set of Nickelodeon’s Double Dare, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to take the Physical Challenge.

Individual entry is $60, but teams of 4 get in for $225.
